Dog-Friendly Breweries: Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House

After exploring downtown Santa Cruz, we decided to stop by the neighboring town Soquel for a quick sip of beer on our way to Monterey. Located off Highway 1 is Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House, a low-key, dog-friendly beer garden and eatery.

Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House has thirty rotating taps, so you can sit there and enjoy a pint of beer or take it to go with their 300-plus bottles from local California breweries. They offer food in-house and let customers bring food from other restaurants.

We got to Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House right before they opened and were lucky enough to get parking. They only had nine spaces in front of their building, so I suggest your get there early or take a rideshare. You can also park in an overflow parking lot at 2590 S Main Street.

I decided not to take Rachel with us on this trip because she injured herself and needed a break from the three of us. Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House is Indy's first brewery she's ever been to, and I would say taking Indy right when Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House just opened helped because there were no other dogs and barely any people, which helped Indy stay under her threshold.

Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House has two beer gardens: the main garden, which is family-friendly, and the more restricted 21 and older garden, where you can also play cornhole. We sat in the 21 and older garden. I like that Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour offers two drink sizes: 5 oz and 16 oz, and I ordered three 5 oz drinks and fish and chips.

Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House leaves several dog bowls throughout their beer gardens, so there's always water for your dogs. I like that there are two separate beer gardens, which is great for dogs who don't like or aren't too fond of children. The canopy-covered tents and community table-style seating is perfect for meet-ups with your friends and your dogs to chill underneath the table.

If you're ever in the Santa Cruz area with your dog or looking to expose your puppy or dog to public places, I think taking a morning trip to Beer Thirty Bottle Shop & Pour House would be perfect.
